A time out for the boys when they act up..just kidding!
Hey, that's what it is for at times at least for a younger dawg. If your dog is used to being crated I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with using it for a time out if theings get too rowdy.
my old dogs crate made a great TV stand for my bedroom ( he loved sleeping in it. i just put a piece of plywood on the top and it worked great!
That's not a bad idea, as long as you don't let the dog know you are using it for "punishment". They should associate their crate with good things, so just put them in calmly and matter of factly and then go scream quietly in a corner
;D Lol guys, I think she is referring to her skin boys. My nephews always like to play in Kody's crate.
Crate was used when HK needed containment in our absence, her time out place (door open) and her hide away (den). It was at the end of a short hallway and kind of a tight spot to start with. When trust became possible, we took it away. She still uses the same spot, her bed is there. We can send her there for a time out and she stays until released. We work real hard at not forgetting we sent her on a time out. The crate has become quite useful. It holds down the carpet in the basement. has made a nice container for storing thing in, and also provides a nice shelf at a nice height for additional storage. Its not going anywhere, maybe someday it wil lbe usefull for a bro/sis or foster.
