DefaultNot really LR: Meet my new pal "Mocha" (pics inside)

Back in October I posted that my good friends whom I spend weekends with and are our neighbors at the beach lost their JRT "Laynie" when she was hit by a car on Halloween.

Well, yesterday little Miss Mocha flew in to Baltimore from Kansas (at Ovation GSP) to come live with my friends. She is 10 weeks old and ooooooh I can't wait for the puppy breath! I can't wait to go down there in a few weeks and play with her She will become my new bed buddy, and of course when Molly and I go for our morning walks on the beach Mocha will join us (just like Laynie used to)

Meet Mocha! (pictures are from the breeders website)

She's a cutie. When I worked with the Greyhound kennel, one of the trainers had a GSP. That was my first introduction to one and I fell in love at first sight. Now that I'm an adult I'm not sure I'd have one but they are very nice dogs. There is a guy who competes in obedience with several out here too.

I really don't know much about the breed, either.
Will that puppy develop the mottled coat so unique to the GSP? Or is a singular color accepted in the standard? Just asking.

You know I'm not really sure. I don't know much about the breed other then what my friend was telling me.

I think that it's an acceptable color, as Mocha's papa is a solid brown color (I believe her color is called liver).

She's going to be trained to go goose hunting with my friends husband

She's gorgeous! I may sound dumb, but what is a GSP? I think I may know but I'm not a hundred percent sure...is it a german short-haired pointer?

That is a beautiful dog. My Abbey was a GSP (German Short-haired Pointer/lab) My boss has always had GSP and if you think labs have energy you should see GSP in action. Nothing like it. I used to dog sit for him. I don't think his dog ever slept until she was 10 yo.

Their coloring varies also. My bosses dog had alot of liver coloring with a few white patches on her chest.

Anyway.... I would love to have another GSP again. They are awesome, but also remember that they can jump fences!
