He made it safe and sound yesterday afternoon. His flight landed a bit early actually. He seems no worse for wear, he wolfed down his supper and his breakfast this morning and was quite the romper in the backyard and exploring his new house. We had one little piddle accident on the rug but otherwise he seems totally fine going potty in the backyard. Clarence was a little confused/put off/unsure of Fitz yesterday. He let Fitz sniff him and walk on him a bit. He really growled at him this morning when SU put Fitz on our bed for a few minutes. Then he growled at me when I went to pet him...that's a little concerning to us but we'll see how today goes. Any advice as to how much of the growling/putting the puppy in his place behavior is acceptable? I'll post pics later when I get them loaded. Clarence and I are off for our usual Sunday morning big walk!
Is he really growling - wrinkling his nose, showing teeth, and stiffening up - or just grumbling with his mouth closed? Buddy will often grumble at Champ when Champ wants to take a bone Buddy has, but he never wrinkles his nose, lifts his lip, or stiffens up, it's just his way of saying "not this time, bro, I want to keep it."

HOORAH!!!!! Welcome Fitz!!!!!
Welcome home Fritz!!
Jake never growled. He would just get up and leave the room when Jazzy came near him. It didn't take long for him to adjust to her and they became best friends. Hope Clarence adjusts quickly to his new roommate.
Growling-none. Putting the puppy in his place- I guess it depends on what you mean by this. My older dogs get up and move away from puppies when they're annoyed and then it's my turn to step in and correct the puppy from being a pestOriginally Posted by ClarenceMom

Don't be too concerned if Clarence doesn't seem to accept Fitz with open arms (paws?) . You never know how an established dog will accept a new puppy at first. When I first brought Mitzi home to my Kasa, I was expecting Kasa to be thrilled. It was the first time I ever saw Kasa snarl and show teeth up to gums. And Mitzi, like a foolish puppy, constantly yapped at her and cuddled up to her. In time, the snarling turned to tolerance, then to friendship.
Welcome home Fitz. I know you will work your way into your brother's heart.
Welcome home little man!!
I hope Mr. C warms up to his little brother soon. I know how pesky little brothers can be Clarence but they are handy too...you can blame stuff on them, play pranks and even have fun with them. And when Mom and Dad aren't looking you can even be nice and share toys. And snuggle.
Pics Leigh we need pics!!
Welcome home Fitz! Im a little upset, where are the pics?
