    DefaultMeet Rugby...

Got a call, couldn't say no.

This fella was left in the overnight drop box at our shelter here in Mt. Pleasant. He had an abscess on his neck, and that apparently was the reason he was given up. The shelter took him to the vet and he's on the mend now, and they asked us to take him on. We agreed. Mr. Rugby is coming to stay with us until he get's adopted. Drake will have a playmate for a little while. He's about 10 or 11 weeks old.

Over night drop box? Is that for dogs?
That's a shame, he's adorable. How old do they think he is? He should get adopted quickly!

They call it that, but it's really two crates in the side entrance of the shelter that is open all of the time and after hours if you find a dog or want to give one up, you go in that door and place it in the crate. They have paper to leave notes if you found it, where, etc.

Dropping a 10-11 week old pup off in a drop box, or any dog for that matter (found stray maybe??). What is wrong with people? They couldn't wait till morning or get their before closing? Why did they get the dog in the first place. Sick.

    OH Gawd Dani.

Scott wants a male Chocolate Lab and we've been fighting about rescue vs. buying. I told him that we could find a puppy to rescue. This is my proof that it CAN happen. I only wish that we could do it right now as our landlord only allows us one dog.

I hope Rugby finds a forever home soon. And as soon as we buy a home, I'll be on your waiting list for a young male Lab to adopt.

    Look at that face! :-*

Glad they got rid of him now, before he's too attached because if it wasn't this reason they would have found another. Now he can find a happy home.
