    DefaultLitter news/Update

Well..I called the breeder...she called me back..the pups were born 1/16 over a week ago..there were only 3 males and we're third..so pretty much we get whichever pup isn't taken. That's ok..I guess..I was a little disappointed we wouldn't have a choice..but I have to believe this is the way it was meant to be.
So..they are already about 9 days old..so in 7 weeks or so..we'll be picking up our pup. We can go up in a few weeks to look at them.which we will be doing. ;D

    Good news!! Congratulations!!

We had a reservation for a black male, and Baloo was the ONLY one. (out of ten!! ) It was most definitely meant to be, sounds like a similar situation for you.

Don't be upset that you get the third pick. The biggest thing is to make sure the puppy matches what you want in personality/temperament. Don't be afraid to walk away if he's not. Don't think that #3 is a reject that nobody else wants. Most of the time that's not the way it is at all.

Very true. Everyone picks dogs differently. Dale was the only one left in his litter out of 7, and I wouldnt trade him for the world! Its all about the way the dog meshes with you, nothing to do with other people.

I agree with JustineNYC...when I called our breeder, about the litter he had posted, he said..."all I have left is this blonde male"...like it was a bad thing. This was to be a Christmas surprise for my kids, so I said, "I'LL TAKE HIM." THE BEST decision I ever made. I could not have asked for a better lab. He is handsome, smart, and has a great temprament.

My lab puppy was picked for me by the breeder. We all attended puppy parties and the like to help her make the decision.

That is so exciting, can't wait to see some pictures when you go in a few weeks. I'm sure it will turn out just right and you will end up with the perfect puppy for you. It will also be a great time of year to get a puppy, hopefully not as cold as now. ;D

Congratulations! We weren't able to pick our puppy either. The breeder matches the pup to the family. That's fine with me. I wouldn't trade Shane for anything.

Congratulations, I wouldn't worry either. Allie was the last one available in her litter. I am so glad cause she is just the best dog anyone could ever ask for. To me, she is like a dream dog, and is loved by all.

9 days and she never called you?

I'd think twice about the breeder. Am I the only one?
