Last night, I took Cooper to the kennel as I am going away for two weeks. I hate leaving him but this kennel is outstanding and they look after him so well.
The owner told me that coincidentally, each time I have taken Cooper in, another family has left their yellow Lab there. It's a male, not sure how old. Apparently he and Cooper love one another! They put them in kennels that are side-by-side and they lay as close as possible, given the dividing "wall". When they let them out each hour to the outdoor area, they race each other up and down the fence (they are not together, they each have their own little run but they can see one another). The owner said it's really great to see the two of them interact.
This makes me smile, because when we are out and meet other dogs, he's not overly interested in socializing. He's not mean or aggressive, he just gives them a sniff then wanders off on his own. Just not keen on playing most of the time. I always thought, "what a stuck up thing he is!"
I'm glad he's found a friend!
Awww, Cooper has a friend, and it must make you feel better knowing that he's not sulking and lonely the whole time you're gone. Maybe you can talk to the other owners and try to set up a play date.
Everyone needs at least one friend!!! Why don't they let them play together?
It's not the destination, it's the journey!
Aww that's great.

That is great. And what a coincidence that they are always together.
I had the same thought - I'm going to see if I can find out more about them when I pick up Cooper.Originally Posted by kathy5475I'm going to enquire about this the next time Cooper has to go there. If they get along that well and the other Lab's owner doesn't object, I'd like them to have the opportunity to play in the same yard.Originally Posted by Thunders Mom
