My poor Buffy...yesterday Rodney couldn't get the door open fast enough and she ran right into it..KLUNK!!! It is so sad...she sat there stunned and needed consoling before going out. She's done this just a handful of times in the 5 years we've lived here and it's so painful to watch! I feel so sorry for her! No, she doesn't have vision problems but maybe I should let the dog slobbers build up a little so the glass won't be so transparent, ha ha! She's just TOO excited to go outside!
They have never run into the door because they didnt see it or know it was there....
only when they're running to fast, put on the brakes too late and kinda slide into it.
The problem is that we'll say "outside??" as a cue for the dogs to run to the door to go out but sometimes when we say it we're not right at the door and she'll beat us to it, expecting it to be open and that's when she crashes! Luckily it's not a frequent accident.
lol luckily is right! So you dont think it's a problem with her vision or anything like that, right? just super exuberant and eager to get OUT!
Baloo won't do that in our house, but does it almost every time we go to my mom's. Sometimes he's going pretty fast, and really crashes.
It's like he's too excited to get outside (my mom has a GREAT yard!) to wait for the door to open. : :-\
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
We keep ours all smudged up with dirt and snot,so it never happens
LOL, that's what we need to do....we've had birds commit suicide hitting the glass doors too!!Originally Posted by Gene
Riley has run into all kinds of stuff, usually when she's running with Simba and looking back to see if he's chasing her. then CLUNK, into a wall, door, or whatever. Then she'll look at me as if to say "who put that wall there?" What a goober ;D
Oh yeah, Boo does this. He'll be looking back at me, and walking toward the door, and KLUNK! : He just doesn't look where he's going sometimes. Silly boy, he never really seems phased though. :P
Katie and Boo
Lexi's run into the doors here & at my parents a few times.
Like Susan said, not because she didn 't see, but because she was simply too darn excited & trys to exit before I get it open It is actually pretty funny, you can see her hit her head & she sort of shakes her head, but keeps right on going.
My pretty girl, Lexi!
