DefaultTankie Has the Poops - Anyone familiar with Calcium Carbonate (eggshell)

His liver values were up last month and we tried him on Science Diet Liver Food. He hated it. Back to our chicken, burger and rice. The receipe that SD has for their liver food included some calcium carbonate (eggs shells). I ordered some online and have been giving it to Tank in his food for about 3 days now. Well he had bloody diarrhea tonight. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with using this stuff.

Now if I have too much calcium I am the opposite

Erns is on this at the moment and no diarrhea. When he is on the raw I grind eggshells for him as he can't eat bones and no problem either.

Hope it is just a one off thing with Tankie.

    Continued good thoughts.

I don't know about the calcium, Sandie, but have you tried adding a tablespooon or so of plain pumpkin to his meal?
