This morning, I couldn't understand why Blue was barking outside.....I'm just about to leave for work and drop two of the boys to daycare when all of a sudden, she came in and boy, did she smell...yep, skunked..I think we have baby one that lives under our shed.
So anyways, dh's business partner takes the oldest to school, I get a called not 30 mins later saying he smelled bad...so I have to call dh who picked him up, showers him and takes him back to school! And still had the smell on him...ugh!!! The other two boy's backpack stank but my daycare provider just put outside for the day and the smell was gone.
Dh then decides to wash Blue and when I get home, there is a mound (and I mean mound of hair in the bathtub and all over the crate and carpet)...I have never so much dog hair ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think dogs shed that much!!
The house still smells a bit!!
And that was our day today!!
Been there, done that. I didn't realize Sky had gotten skunked until she had already come in the house and rubbed her face all over the carpet - it was about 3am in the morning. I had gotten up to let them out and there must have been a skunk. Fortunately it wasn't a bad hit, but it did get her face which is the one area you really can't wash with the peroxide mix. It took several months before you didn't smell the skunk when getting close to her face.

Ick!! Been there! Thor got skunked while we were out in Shenandoah National Park...we got to have a LOVELY 3 hr car ride back home with him! :-X
You might try Skunk Off!. I keep a bottle in my car in case Puff gets skunked on our morning walks since we occasionally meet skunks in the nature preserve.
Casey's Mom (JL member) has posted that she's used it after her Labs got skunk-sprayed with excellent results.
