I took Sam out to to my trainer's after work yesterday. The modus operandi is to put him on her dog truck when I get there and then she and I drive out to whatever part of the field we're going to work on, get him out, we work, I put him back. She thinks having a routine like that helps him focus and sort of calms him down. The dog truck acts as sort of a holding tank. So we did that last night. When we get back to her yard he gets out and either runs around with the other dogs if they're out, or I put him back in my car and we come home. I was in a hurry last night since I had told SU I'd be back by 6:30 so we could go out to eat for our anniversary.
I dashed home, leapt around the SUV, opened the rear door.............. and the back was EMPTY. I had forgotten Sam! Left him in the dog truck. Can we say DUH???????? (I knew that we could). Drove all the way home, even looked in the rear view mirror to see if I saw his little dog head like I always do, and STILL didn't realize he wasn't even there. SU and I had to go back out there and retrieve (HA) him.
I am still feeling pretty dumb this morning........
;D ;D ;D This tale probably beats the one about repeating a command for a dog to sit, when the dog was already sitting before the first command.
Why do we tell these stories about ourselves? I think we want to punish ourselves good so we don't make the same mistake again.
Anyway, you proved to your wife how important she is and your anniversary. She was all that you were thinking about.
Good Luck selling that story.

I was thinking about you the other day I had not seen one of your funny stories about Sam in awhile well I'm glad Sam was in the dog truck waiting for you
Did you nearly break the speed limits going back to get him?!? I hope he wasn't huffy with you afterward.
