Sir,
COMPENSATION FOR THE BLOCKADE OF CREEKS
In course of felling the trees that fail within the line of the Gas Turbine light Construction, two very important creeks have been blocked in the Eniwari Community. These are Binikurukuru and Tonere. On that particular day of felling that affected these creeks, some members of the Community were in their farms as usual and before they could return home, there was no way again therefore they had to leave their food, crops, catches, canoes, etc and came to hire labour to haul their canoes from land.
The unfortunate thing is that the creeks are blocked in many places with very big trees and the natives find it extremely difficult to clear them and put to use. Another implication is that it is tantamount to punishment by the gods that own these creeks. Binikurulcuru is owned by the juju called Binikurukuru and Tonere by the god of war called Akpagumu. According to the gods, the members of the Community are unsafe since their movement has been hampered and nothing has been done. We. are Already dead biologically because of the threats froth the gods because. it is an abomination to block their movement.
The uncountable number of farms of this poor community in these creeks is rendered useless. These are creeks that we go to fish everday and the blockade has stopped that area of livelihood, By ocôupation we are also very serious palm cutters and because of the damage, palm cutting in these dreeks is also haulted. Tapping of

palm wine in these creeks too is haulted because we have some camps in these creeks where people tap palm wine and prepare alcohol but now they cannot get to and from he camps easily. It is very unfortunate to mention that the overall economic survival if the Community is at stake. The above are only but a few of the toothing problems the damage has exposed the Community to.
While we congratulate the government and the other sectors concerned for this landable project, we are requesting that something should be done to save the Eniwari Community from this threatening situation, We are therefore requesting the Company in question to please release a compensation fee of N24,OOO.OO (twenty four thousand Naira) only, to ameliorate the situation.
Your maximum co—operation is highly solicited.
yours, faithfully,
We are
