My brother's family was here this weekend with his 2 dogs Murphy (black lab 9 months) and McGuire (golden retriever 9 years). They get along great with my Lucy and Cricket.
We noticed Lucy drinking out of the toilet and refusing to drink from the big water dish. We change it every hour or after we see Murphy slobbering in it, so it is very clean and fresh.
Lucy was giving us the look "you aren't going to make me share my water are you????....Murphy has cooties!"
This was never an issue when it was just McGuire.
what's up with that?
it isn't as if they don't get along. I don't get it.
Lucy is a princess.
Well, a girl can't be too careful with cooties floating around....
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
LOL who knows they can be so weird some times.
Who is alpha in that pack? It may be she is deferring to the alpha.
not sure Danie.
if I were to guess, it would be McGuire.
Maybe she hasn't been innoculated to McGuire's particular strand of cooties. ;D
Toby and Chamois say: GO STEELERS!
Don't know, Molly, but Zoe will not drink from the outside bucket or dish if other dogs drank from it.
But in the house, she'll drink even if others have before her.
Now if it's only Zoe, she will drink once, and not want to drink from the same dish unless I get "new" water. :
Linda and Zoë, the Umlaut
That IS weird, Molly! I've never heard of such a thing!!! Can dogs be germaphobes? LOL
Brenda from Connecticut
she didn't do that when you and Otis were here, right???
