Remember the dogs I told you about who were in Sumner County Animal Control? This was right before we moved, and I was trying to help a rescue friend get them the heck out of there...
Well, I have an update. The black and white Lab mix was adopted or reclaimed by his owner...so that left Cliff.
My friend was able to get him out last Friday. ;D And thanks to lots of posting and cross-posting about him, she was able to secure a foster home for him in Atlanta. I would like to thank everyone so much who helped spread the word about him. I know kaytris posted on petfinder, and I think some others of you may have posted elsewhere too. Not sure where the foster saw his post, but it is thanks to you all that we were able to find him a place to go and get him out of this dreadful facility.
Cliff is a little less than a year old and VERY sweet. He has been neutered and vetted this week and has been staying at the vet's. My friend is scheduled to pick him up today and take him halfway to his foster home.
I have sent a check for half of his vet bill, but Cliff still needs a little financial help to pay for his vetting. If anyone would like to contribute, please let me know. If 15 people would send $10, he would be covered! I talked to his vet this morning, and he was a very nice man. I wish I could pay Cliff's entire bill, but we have had so many expenses with the move that we didn't expect. : My friend has been having a tough time with a litter of puppies that had parvo, so unfortunately her pockets have been turned inside out with trying to save them.
I know there were a few of you who expressed an interest in his story, so I just thought I'd float the idea of helping him out in this way. I really hate to ask people for money :-[ But if you feel moved to send a little something on his behalf, I can give you the address and phone of the vet who took him in.
Anyway! Thanks again for all your help and support. I'm sure Cliff would thank you with a big ole' kiss too! :-* And of course, if you are looking to adopt a sweet young yellow male, let me know that too!
