I have posted in the past that Pete does not like playing with other dogs. He doesn't at dog parks. He won't play with his new brother and sister and he's been around them a lot. There was a dog he was friends with when he was younger, and these two played like you expect two dogs to play. And they played many many times.
Well Pete had not seen his best friend in about four years until a couple days ago. We went back home and I dropped in on my old friend and his little dog Buddy. I was so excited to see them go at it.
Well that didn't happen. Little Buddy tried and tried but Pete wanted nothing to do with him. This makes no sense to me. Since the four years he's not seen Buddy we have driven by where he lives and Pete knows where he is and would always start whining and looking at the house, knowing it was where Buddy lived. But I finally get him there and he snubs his best friend.
I'm raising a human. I have no dog.
HeHe, oh come on Pete, once the sniffing of the private parts is over it's all good! ;D
Does he at least sniff them? Moose doesn't play much either, but he does need to do his sniffing. After that he prefers human interaction and could care less about the dogs. He plays with Sky, but usually only if we are engaged as well.

He sniffs. He acknowleges. At times he makes attempts at playing. But he doesn't keep it up and is soon more concerned with me or just doin his own thing.
Now with our female GS mix, he is obsessed with smelling her, uh, well you know. It drives me crazy cause he is truly obsessive about it.
That is my dog to a T, he will do a quick sniff but that's it he likes to play with humans and do his own thing, after all, he's never seen another dog throw a fetching toy.
