When you really want to put a dog at ease, rub her gently under the chin. Among dogs, this is a sign of respect and love, and its the way puppies greet adults.

    So says the calendar?

All 3 of mine love their chins rubbed esp the baby, he makes a satisfying groan then his front legs slide down on the wooden flooring and he goes to sleep.

On my two, if I rub lightly at the base of the ear their eyes will start closing within seconds.

Bob loves hard scratches below the ear to the neck. The harder you rub the harder he leans into you and his face is just a bowl of pudding.

If I rub HKs ear under the flap with the soft part of the palm of my hand, she will moan, press her ear harder to the palm, and close her eyes. If I do both ears at the same time, she doesn't know which ear to press.

Lexi loves when I do that to her. She closes her eyes, groans & presses on my fingers harder.
