Okay, I know labs shed year 'round, but we can't pet Shelby without a lot of fur coming off on our hands. I feel like I'm drowning in dog fur. :
I just brushed Shelby and got a ton of fur off -- and the majority of it was undercoat. What's up with that? It's cool here but not cold (40's) - but she is an inside dog anyway. Is this normal? Her coat does not appear thin anywhere (although based on the amount that I got off, she should theoretically be bald). ;D
I guess it is time for the question.
Is your dog a Lab? ;D ;D ;D

Yup. And like I said, I know they shed. But this looks more like a spring blow. Just wondering if that's normal.Originally Posted by Endofile
A lot of dogs blow their coat twice a year. Mocha's blowing hers right now too and it's crazy. She's generally the one that sheds very little (for a lab) but now it's everywhere.
Kody was blowing his coat from October until just 2 weeks ago. This was probably the worst shedding season I can remember. I am blaming it on the weather going from mild to cold and back, but have no idea if that is the cause. Thankfully it has stopped.
Mine are blowing crazy right now. It doesn't make sense.

Hmm. I have yet to experience this "blowing coat" you speak of. (Hopefully I got one who was defective in that area.... ;D)
But hey, give a girl a break. I mean, it's not like she'd go out and eat human poo or anything like that, right?...... Right.....?? Ohhhh......... wait....... :-[

Yeah, yeah Kate. Go ahead & bring up a girl's most embarrassing moment so her momma can re-live every horrifying moment I wish much fur-flying in your future! ;D j/kOriginally Posted by Baloo317
Mine are shedding alot too. I think it's the crazy weather we are having, warm & cold. The heat is up & down in the house. Hopefully it will end soon. :
When I brush them I could make a "fur" coat. ;D
Glad to hear we aren't alone in the blowing coat issue. I was afraid to mention it for fear of jinxing the rest of you. Only one of mine is doing this though, Tugg is losing so much hair he should be bald. I am brushing him daily but you'd never know. Even got this fancy brush that's supposed to help, not sure it really works better than anything else though - Furmanator. Please would someone come up with a use for all this dog hair, I need a way to make some extra cash!
