We played our normal morning fetch for about 15 minutes, came in the house, and I went to work on the computer. Jonah was still playing with his ball (now in the house with me). All of a sudden I hear a squeal. All the kids come out of their bedrooms because it is so loud. I have no idea what he did to himself, but Jonah is lifting his front right leg and wimpering. He tries to walk, but everytime he steps he cries. I get him to sit and massage the leg, shoulder and foot for about 5 minutes. He doesn't wince or cry when I am massaging it, but won't put it down. I'm thinking we are going to be making a vet visit, so I stand up to go get the phone, and Jonah follows me, walking just fine, no limp or cry. He seems fine now. I think maybe he pulled a muscle or something throwing the ball to himself (he tosses it around the room) and it scared him. Been watching him for the last 20 minutes or so, and he doesn't seem to be favoring it at all.
My father-in-law is coming over in a little bit to keep the kids while I run out for a few hours. I think I'll tell him Jonah is on "crate rest" for a bit (he tends to get him hyped up) just to be sure he's okay.
Oh poor Jonah. Is it possible he just stepped on something (ornament hanger, carpet tack ...)? Hope he continues to be okay!
Didn't even think about that! Just checked out his paws really good, and all looks fine. But the carpet tack is a possibility. We have one area that tends to come loose (getting new carpet in a few months anyway, so we just keep hammering it back down). Off to do some hammering...
