Bella tells me when its time to go to bed. We have our lap top
in the livingroom on a tv tray thing. This is usually where I'm at
after Connor gets to bed and before bed. Anyway, if its bed time,
Bella will come sit in front of me and start whining. And she
will keep on until I get up and start turning the lights and tv
off. Its so funny. Sometimes she drives me batty so I tell her
to go up to bed. She will go upstairs for not even 5 mins. and
come back down to get me again. LOL
;D Have to chuckle. Duke does the something similar when he wants DH to go to bed. He goes in his kennel(it's in the kitchen/family room)...kinda of a high-pitched quiet winey growl then woof. He wants the TV turned down (DH is hard of hearing). It's OK for me to stay up. I have the TV much lower. So once DH has gone to bed, I can go check out JL or watch TV and Duke is just fine...curls up in his kennel and settles in for the night.

Kody does this with my wife. I get a real kick out of it too. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night when he jumps up from sleeping at 9pm and stares at her then walks to the stairs and stares at her some more. If she is dozing on the couch, he will actually nose bump her to wake her up and take her to bed. He'll go to bed with her and stay up there for 20 to 30 minutes then come back to me and nap at my feet until it's "our" bedtime.
Oh yes...they will sit in front of us & stare. Then the pacing starts. Sometimes Molly will go up to bed before us. Abby won't, she justs sits there looking at us. :
Zoey, does, Merlot could care less. About 11:P.M. she will go upstairs and bark at the bedroom door,(which we keep closed), and whine until we open it and let her on the bed. Then Merlot joins her, and DW and I try to find a space on the bed for us
This time of year, when we're up late doing things like cards and wrapping, Wes will harrumph loudly, reminding us that it's time to go to bed. If it starts to stretch toward midnight, he'll take himself upstairs to our room and go to sleep w/out us.
"Okay, you two. I'm outta here. Just don't let these midnight hours affect breakfast tomorrow morning, hear?"
Funny! And probably exactly what they are thinking.Originally Posted by dweck

Even if Lula is asleep on the sofa, at 11pm she will get up, got sit by the front door for the last potty break, come back in and stare at me or DH until we ask her "What time is it?". She will then trot off to her crate. Same routine every night.
She stares at us for a lot of different reasons. I have noticed that the "bedtime stare" looks different. It's a very intense stare, but not begging. It's telling. :
Mine all do the same thing and they get me to bed much earlier than I would like.
Ellie Mae starts "huffing" at us at 10:15 to tell us its bedtime.
