    DefaultHead, back or butt

Whenever your lab snuggles up to you on the sofa or in bed, do you get the head, back or butt?
Mitzi always gets her head as close to mine as possible. Judy and Bruno always give me back or butt.

Maggie has to get face to face. She leans her head against mine. Daisy is quite content to sit on the floor within arms reach so I can scratch her ears. Maggie will lay down within 10 minutes but daisy can sit there for weeks.

I always get the back or the rump. Even if I turn her around, within a minute, she'll reposition herself. Do you think there is a hidden (or not so hidden) message in that?

Bo turns and plops back next to me. Luke will turn the other way and put his head on me and slide his feet underneath me. His paws get so cold.

    I get all three.
Depends on where we are sitting. I hate waking up to the butt on my pillow.

With Sarah, it's usually her head in your lap. Unless she's with our 12 yr old DS.. then you never know what to expect, lol. Those 2 are very close. With Madison, it all just depends on her mood at the time. Sometimes you get all of her in your lap, sometimes a paw... sometimes just her nose..... she just keeps you guessing. As for the bed... both girls are now trained to stay off our bed. Now they go sleep with the kids from time to time.

Most of the time, Theo does a reverse spoon with the butt facing me. I don't appreciate it. If I encourage him, he will do it nice, with his head up near mine.

Bess liked to get her face as close to mine as possible -- nicely affectionate except for my having to breathe second hand Lab air.

But probably Puff's #1 preference is to have her rump pressing against my leg, usually around my knee, forming a rough "T" shape.

Her #2 preference, maybe tied with or ahead of the #1 mentioned, is to have her head on or next to my feet.

Puff's #3 preference is to have her back against my side.

#4, but very far down, is to be on her stomach next to my side with her head about a dog's head distance away from being able to lick my face. (Although she does incessantly lick my face when she wants something.)

I ALWAYS get the butt! Even when I try to position myself with the head near me, she repositions herself so her butt is right there. If she's really really tired though, she won't bother to reposition.
