How many of you are members? Is it worth it to become a member..??
I just got a thingie in the mail about becoming a member of the CKC. It is $50 per year, and included in that is a subscription to their magazine (Dogs in Canada, which I do actually like) their semi-annual Companions newsletter (?) and a discount for pet insurance (which I wouldn't use.)
I am looking to be involved in Rally/Obedience/Agility in the future with Baloo, would being a member of the CKC have any benefits in those areas..??
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
Rowan is registered with CKC. I did buy the annual magazine though. As for membership, I was thinking about it but decided against it.
Henry is registered with both the CKC and the AKC, but I'm a member of neither.
I do like the CKC magazine though...
Caleb is registered with the AKC. His UKC application will be going in the mail this week. I'm not a memeber of either, tho.
You cannot be a member of UKC or AKC, just CKC.

I got the same thing too in the mail. What are the benefits of being a CKC member? Anyone?
Angus is Canadian Kennel Club registered, but I am not a member.
I am a CKC member, it comes with the magazine, and its 63.60 per year (just sent my renewal) unless you are a breeder, you would just want the magazine. Breeders get registrations etc at 50% the regular price.
I joined the CKC - companion member (for pet owners). Check out their mission statement, it's under "who we are". Part of the reason I joined is because they provide the registry service for purebred dogs and the show trials, and we've trialed.
Dogs in Canada is one of my favorite magazines.
I was wondering- I thought maybe the OP meant like on the board or something.Originally Posted by labby
