Does your black lab lay out in the hot sun until they are literally baked!
Magnum and Remington will go out and bake themselves. They've come in actually hot to the touch. Magnum loves nothing better than to lay in the sun on the hot rocks surrounding our pool.
Ruger never does this.
cinder does and we could never understand it. when she comes in and i love her up, her fur is burning up. i figure it must feel good on their muscles, kinda like a sauna for labs. abbey could care less. give her a nice shady tree and she will fall asleep.
Baloo seems to like the sun a little more now that it's cold. In the summer he would avoid it like the plague.
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
My girls like to lay in the sun too......but not if it's real humid.
I am black lab-less. But my black dog "Blackie" loves to sun herself until she's hot to the touch.

No. Mine do not normally lay in the sun.

Yep, Jefferson does this. He will go bake himself. He will even go lay on the blacktop driveway! I usually don't let him stay there too long in the summer. I'm afraid he will get heatstroke. It doesn't seem to matter to him how hot it is outside. He loves to bake himself!
“If I know every single phone call you’ve made, I’m able to determine every single person you’ve talked to; I can get a pattern about your life that is very, very intrusive. And the real question here, is what do they do with this information that they collect – that does not have anything to do with al-Qaeda? And we’re gonna trust the president and the vice president that they’re doing the right thing? Don’t count me in on that.”
Joe Biden, 2006
Never had one do that and Rowdy is my third black boy. In fact Midnite used to sit in my shadow out dove hunting in early Sept when it was a bit warm and sunny.
HK loves to lay in the sun, but I limit it. One day when she was yonger, maybe 6 months old, she (dark chocolate) and Newman (Yellow) were laying on the lawn in the sun. I went over and put my a hand on each. Newman was quite warm, but HK - Ouch! She was hot. Is there reasin for us to be concerned about dark colored labs laying in the sun, or will they move when they get too hot?
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
I guess mine are weird. Every black dog I've had has done this though. Doesn't matter if it's 100 degrees outside, they will still go lay in the hot, hot, sun and bake. I find it a bit odd, but I don't worry about it. They can move out of the sun if they want to. It's not like I'm making them lay there :P
