My 14 little mixed breed dog is starting to urinate in the house if we don't notice she is standing by the door. She will stop and go anywhere she is. Thank goodness we have hardwood floors and not carpet. Do they make any medicine for dogs like they do people? I was thinking Detrol LA?????????? Any suggestions?
Yes...they do have meds if it is a spastic bladder...but I would have her checked for a UTI.
Also check for diabetes, is she drinking more?
My senior is diabetic and excess urinating indoors was how we first spotted it.

Yes, there are meds, but I second the idea of making sure it is not a UTI first. I would get her in to see the vet and you can discuss options then as well, if it turns out not to be a UTI. My mom is also using some hollistic remedies for her senior lab that has incontinence problems when she is stressed. Seems to be working great.
My brother's older GSD had that problem and it was solved by phenylpropanol amine which has to be given to her regularly. But as suggested, first test her for UTI and diabetes.
