Most definitely seperate food dishes, and I would even go areas if you can i.e. one corner of the kitchen vs the other corner of the kitchen.

I have one water bowl for the two of them, but it's a big one. I actually seperate their food bowls with it, and they are both very respective of one another's bowls. (neither will move to check out the other's until the other is finished and is in after chow neutral territory) Here's the pic of the water bowl:

I have a waterbowl like Karina in that picture...but I have a raised bowl set for food that each of my boys has a side.

7 dogs, 7 stainless steel food bowls, 2 separate feeding rooms, 1 LARGE ceramic water bowl which gets filled about 58 times a day.

6 dogs, 6 separate food dishes, 6 separate places in the kitchen. Everyone knows where their spot in the kitchen is. They share water dishes though.

    2 dogs:
1 large stainless steel water bowl
2 separate food bowls, fed two times daily about 5 feet apart
both boys finish eating about the same time and then swap places to check out and see if the other left anything - of course NOT! - but they still check each and every time!

3 dogs, 3 separate food dishes, the bowls are set down a couple of feet from one another and picked up a couple of minutes later when the bowls are emptied; 2 water bowls - 1 in the bedroom & 1 in the computer room, refilled daily.

Thank you all for the reponses...looks like i'll just convert Ty's water bowl to Macy's food bowl and just buy a big water bowl for the both of them.

BTW...seems a little small, and I bet something like this has been posted before...but, I bet Ty would like this water bowl..fits him nicely.

Same here 2 food bowls and they share water. Actually I have 2 water bowls but they both use them both I'm just lazy and don't want to have to fill the one 28x per day
