DefaultAngus had a good checkup today!

Just a little giddy about his checkup, and wanted to spread my joy. ;D

I hadn't mentioned it, but I'd been feeling a small thickening on his behind in the general vicinity of the last one. I hoped it was just scar tissue. Well, the vet inspected it today and he felt that's all it was! That was a load off my mind. I thought it was too, but just wanted him to feel it as well. It's right in line with where his incision was all bunched up. So, that was good.

At the last split-second, I stopped a bordatella injection. He pulled out this needle while we were chatting about something else, and just as he was about to go for it I stopped him and asked what it was. He said they are going to injections for bordatella because the immunity is longer-lasting. I requested intranasal, and he happily obliged. He's so agreeable and nice, and never makes me feel bad for being such a pain. After Linda's problem, and some other negatives I've heard, I feel more comfortable staying with what hasn't caused us any problems.

More good news! I asked if he could give me something to carry as proof that the boys had three-year rabies vaccines, and he said they could issue me new tags and licenses! ;D I don't know when they developed this policy - sometime in the last two months, because when Simon was in there was no mention of this.

He also waived titers this time, as they have gone to a three-year protocol on DHLPP! Since Angus' titers were fine last year, he felt OK about waiving them this time. He said we can titer again next year.

    All good!

Angus was a perfect little gentleman in the office, garnering compliments on good behavior from every direction. This still takes me aback. It is hard not to think of him as a little monkey, but I hear more and more people talking about "what a well-behaved dog" in reference to him. Sigh. He's really turned into a nice boy. Who'd have thought!?

    That's great news, Connie!!

Way to go, Angus!!! He was always a good boy... just hidden in a monkey suit is all.

Oh!! I totally thought of all of us with labramonkeys today... Henry and I were watching this lady attempting to walk her yellow lab pup (probably about 5 or 6 months old?) down the street. He was doing his very best imitation of a bucking bronco/alligator allll the way down the street. LOL.

Glad for the great check up- your vet sounds like a gem! Luckily Sammis' is real personable and listens when I have questions and agrees with doing titers ;D- its nice when you can work as a team for your pup's best interest!
