A few days ago I posted that we were looking to adopt a male lab, Chip, but the day before we were to go look at him he was adopted.
So, I said "whew...okay..good...now, we weren't looking to adopt in the first place. I mean, one lab is enough...enough hair...poop...we're good for a while. Don't need another lab.........."
SOME evil person must have put all these websites on my computer like petfinder and 1-800-save-a-pet.com and all these other websites...well, I wasn't gonna just close em...might as well look..you know, out of curiousity.
Then came this lil' girl...
So, I emailed the shelter (out of curiosity..of course), they have little info on her. They have 100 animals and 3 workers. So, they probably know just enough of her of a couple of pictures and taking her on a short walk. She's not fixed, don't know about heartworm (how expensive would it be if all of the sudden she was HW pos?), they don't know how she acts with other dogs, no aggression whatsoever to humans. She said she doesn't bark at the other dogs through the cages like some.
ANYWAY...we're gonna go look at her on Saturday...out of curiousity......that is, unless she's adopted before then. Which I hope she isn't! So...nobody on here take her from now til then!! ;D
Funny thing is...I think i've officially (well, I should say Ty) converted my wife into a lab lover! She still wants a "small lap dog" someday...but the funny thing is...SHE has been the one looking at these websites more than I! And during our discussions of Chip, she said kinda sad, "Well, if we get him..that'll mean I won't get to have my small dog for a long time." But when we didn't get him, I thought she'd start up again with the "Can I get a Maltese? Yorkie?" things again, but amazing she's been looking at only shelter labs!
She is a cutie, and I actually like her name! Hope she is still there so she come live in your home! ;D
She looks like a lap dog to me.

I really love her face! I hope you get her. Thank you for considering adoption.
Oh I hope you both like her in person.
I have a 97# black lab as a lap dog. His name is Seamus.

I really hope this works out for you (and Macy). Sweet story about your wife. Labs do have a way of worming themselves right into our hearts.
She's beautiful and looks like she is definitley looking for a GOOD home !! I hope she adopts you !
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
That's so funny!Originally Posted by Endofile
It's great that you are considering an adult dog from a shelter. I adopted 2 from rescue at 4 and 6 years old this year. Life is good. Black dogs are usually overlooked (for no good reason) but I really think they have bigger hearts
I hope she's as sweet as she is cute! Good luck. ;D
