Do you ever wonder if you have gone over the top! I mean if a lab on the forum is sick, I feel sick! If we lose one my heart breaks! Not just for them but for their peep's also! No real favorites, o.k a couple , but all the pups on here, I just care about them! Have to add Penny and a few of the non-lab pets also! O.K I know I've gone over the top-just was sitting here thinking about all the special labs on this board and wondering if I'm the only one that feels this way! Not about caring, but feeling that they and all of the folks on here are just special!
Certainly, we are like one big extended family.
Absolutely! If I am reading about a loss of a loved one and crying my eyes out, my husband will say to me: Why do you even look at that board if it makes you so sad?!?! So now I make sure that I tell him all the good stories, show him all the cute pics and he is now well acquainted with everyone also!!!
I'll tell ya, I am just sick about the fires out west and worried about everyone getting out safely along with their furkids! I just want to open my home to anyone on here that needs to get away with nowhere to go!
So, yes, I agree, I am right there with you with caring about everyone and all the labbies on here - just took me a long time to get that out!
I'm glade I found this forum and I think what you wrote just describes what makes this board so special.
I'm really happy to know a "place" to go with "lab questions" or to read about other labs and their people.

have to say all those folks in Cali/ and some friends that we know that live there have been on my mind today! Hope they are all safe as we bed down for the night!
Yup, if one is a true JL member, then we all have the same feelings as you do. We are family, if one hurts, we ALL hurt.
All Labradors are special !! ;D
((((((((HUGS)))))))) all round - to people and doggies alike!! ;D

I think that one thing that makes us feel so close is that when we read about others' experiences and feelings for their labs being the same as our own, it's very easy to relate to each other, and to love those labs we see pictures of and read about. I can read a story about someone's lab, or see a precious picture, and think "that's what my Mitzi does" or "that looks so much like my Judy". It's very easy to extend my love for M&J to that lab in the picture, or to that lab that does that cute, naughty, or interesting behavior. That's what brings me here every day; I can't wait to see who's celebrating birthdays, how sick and injured labs are doing, pictures of the new puppies and seniors, stories of their antics. Tears and laughter at the computer every day - I care too.
