how many other parents out htere have what I refer to as the "holy ghost" for a lab? Every single night the routine is as follows....
we go out for the last piddle
we come in the bedroom and pup jumps on the bed looking intently at the door
daddy comes in and gets ready for bed placing 3 treats on the dresser
daddy comes to bed and pup gets his treats for being such a good boy
once we are settled pup walks up between his momma & daddy lays down and twists himself over onto his back laying his head on mommas shoulder falling soundly to sleep
he stays there for most of the night....
anyone else have a holy ghost?
This is somewhat our routine too, minus the treats and staying on our bed all night. We let Clarence cuddle with us until the 10 o'clock news is over, then he has to get on his doggy bed. He encroaches waaay too much to let him stay on the bed. But I let him if DH isn't there! Don't tell DH! He he!
That is adorable that he puts his head on your shoulder. We usually get the butt. :-X

This is how Chuy usually sleeps.
I call it the dead cow.

YUP that's the position!
I actually prefer the butt, it makes a great pillow ;DOriginally Posted by jzgrlduff
Similar except I'm single and share the bed with two labs. Kai always sleeps on the pillow next to my head and likes to have his head close to mine, or he rests his head on my chest/shoulder area. Samm sleeps below him along the length of my body with his head on my leg. Apparently I'm a very good pillow.
No dogs in bed allowed over here! :-\

Toby waits until the lights are out and then he tries to sneak up on DH's side of the bed, not that 110 pounds of lab climbing up on the bed can be very sneaky. He then sleeps lengthwise pushed up against Mark's legs. Chamois moves up to the head of the bed and steals Mark's pillow. Why, you ask, do they stay on his side? Because they know I'll kick them off since they take up so much room! Mark is much more indulgent about giving up his bedspace and sleep quality than I am, I guess, though the cats all curl up on my side, Misha on my pillow, Almond against my hip, and Macy on top of me somehow (usually on my feet). Good thing we have a king sized bed. Come to think of it, maybe the dogs sleep on Mark's side because MY side is so crowded...
Toby and Chamois say: GO STEELERS!
