I'm visiting my parents for fall break, and you'd think I could "puppy proof" a house by now. After five years, he's either getting smarter, or I'm getting dumber. Day One, he some how got into a whole box of some sort of granola/fiber bars (ate 17 of 20). They had a bit of chocolate in them, probably not enough to harm him but I felt better make him puke them up (partly because of the chocolate and partly because out of concern for bloat). Well, we counted 17 wrappers - some unopened and the vet said he'd be fine. He's been fine ever since, though crated while I was gone. Today (two days after his first episode) I thought I'd leave him out again. I'm still not sure where he got it, but he ate a loaf of moldy bread - have I mentioned his wheat allergy? - and a bit of red cabbage (guess he didn't like it because he didn't hardly any). Mom and Dad left on their trip today, so I guess they through some stuff out while I was gone, and he got into the trash - that's the only thing I can figure out. So we just got through with another H2O2 induced puking episode. :
I never have trouble with him counter surfing at home, but I guess I never leave food out and my trashcan is in a cabinet so there's really never anything for him to get anyways. I guess I need to be more vigilant when we're visiting other people's houses.

Oh no. Puking is not fun.
Jes...your dad lives like a typical single man with an empty counter and fridge. Don't overdo it on your first few days at grandma's house! Zoe says great work, though!
Oh, man. I'm sorry, Nick, and I know I shouldn't laugh. But 17 out of 20, many unopened--it makes an amusing and revolting visual. Feel better, Jes, and KNOCK IT OFF!
Granola? Toby and Chamois say good work on the counter and trash surfing, but dude, go for the chips next time!
Or as Han Solo so famously said, "sorry about the mess". Ugh.
Toby and Chamois say: GO STEELERS!
Poor Jes...he just wants to indulge on his vacation too.
I've had to do the induced vomiting so many times that Murray runs from the hydrogen peroxide bottle now.
Poor Jes. I hope his tummy feels better now.
Oh good grief. Good luck Nick!

I know! He splurges and he goes for...granola? That boy isn't right.Originally Posted by TobysTrixThere's probably a lot of truth to that - he doesn't have a choice because there usually isn't food here.Originally Posted by zoezoeI took a picture of his barf pile on my cell phone if you want to see it. :POriginally Posted by theoconbrio
