Being familiar with my Hershey Kisses, I have to assume that is trick photography and it is really a new treatin each of those pictures.

Awwww good wait Jonah!! :-*
That's one of my favorite games to play with Molly (who is almost 2). The fun has been lost on Abby for a few years now (she is 7)

OMG, what a doll!! Good boy Jonah!
That's exactly what I thought! Riley, at 8 months, would never have sat that close to a treat without eating it.Originally Posted by Endofile

Good boy! Clever AND handsome (great pics, too).
I remember when I taught Toby "wait". Mark, my DH - then BF - was out of town. I was working with Toby, who was just a little guy, and he'd caught on literally just that morning that Mark came home. We all went in the kitchen, and I said, "honey, watch this!"
Me: "Toby, sit. Down. Wait..." and I backed up with the treat left on the floor right in between Toby's front paws.
The pup just sat there and stared at me, waiting for the OK, and Mark stared in disbelief at both of us.
Me: "OK!", and Toby slurped up the treat
Mark: "NO WAY!"
Me, "You try it."
Mark: "Toby, sit. Down. Wait..." and he put the treat down just like I did, stood up, and started to take a step backwards.
Toby: "Phtooooey!" and out spat the treat back on the floor.
Mark and I both stared at him in disbelief. I made a labrador spit out a treat, unbelievable! I was stunned. That was probably my most triumphant moment of puppy-training right there.
The next time around, Toby minded his dad, and everyone was happy. Now he does a great "wait". Chamois, however, is still a work in progress with that one, so clearly I am not the miracle trainer Toby led me to believe briefly that I was. Oh well.
Toby and Chamois say: GO STEELERS!
How I love that beautiful face! He has all the wait looks.
those pics are just TOOOOO cute !!!
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
No trick photography, Ed! It is a series of pictures doing it two different times, but he really waits each time. I am sitting right there in front of him (I'm sure it would be gone if I left the room). He wants to please me so bad, all it took was a few "no"s when he started to go for it, he figured out what I wanted and waits. Actually, when I try to release him from the wait, he doesn't really understand that (I'll say "okay" in a happy tone, and he'll still be waiting). So after I say "okay", I actually have to pick up the treat and hand it to him!Originally Posted by Endofile
OMG is Jonah a cutie! What an adorable sequence of pictures. Abby used to do the same thing....she wouldn't look at the treat. The temptation was too much!
