I noticed this on Medea's tail this morning. I'm not sure where it came from, but I know she hasn't been out without us or anthing like that, and she's always in the room with us, so I have no idea what happened. I'm womdering if maybe she could have licked it raw?
Is there anything I can put on it because of course, it's Sunday and the vet isn't open. She does have her yearly appointment on Thursday, or should she go before that?
Sorry, the first pic is kind of blurry. It's not freely bleeding, but looks 'wet'.
Ouch. Is she a big tail wagger? Any chance she could have wagged her tail on a wall or something and caused it? I think Buddy on the board here had to have part of his tail removed for that reason.
Anyways, do you have any vet wrap you could wrap it with til you get to the vet's? I'd just try to keep it clean and dry until you can get in, and I think I'd be apt to see if they could move her yearly up to Monday morning.
Hope she's feeling better soon.

Ouch. Neosporin and vet wrap.

Ouch, I agree with Labby. And I would try to move the appointment up.

Thanks guys! I was wondering about the neosporin. I may have some betadine around here, too . Should I use that first?
I used to have some vet wrap. I 'll have to check and see if I still have it.
Ditto what everyone else said, try to keep her from licking that area. Hard to say what might of happened, but does look very ouchy!
That's looks sore. I would use Neosporin. betadine may actually "burn" the tissue. The big thing will be watching for infection. Hope it heals fast. Maybe the vet can get you in sooner.
