Defaultnew rescue pup here / Pictures added

I got a call yesterday about a 15 week old lab that needed a place to go. The breeder had found out that the pup has cataracts and he would not be able to place him. They where thinking of putting him down according to the vet that called me, so I said I would take him in and see if we could do surgery to correct his vision.

The breeder just left and he is the cutest little black fellow you would ever want to see. He has his vision now, but it will go down hill as he matures. I just looked on line to see the info on his father, and was quite surprised. I will admit I do not know much about to countries top labs, but it appears his sire is one of them. His name is Five Stars General Patton. The pups name is Finn.

I did not get his registration papers, so not sure who the dam is. I will post pictures of him in a day or two. In the meantime, I will be calling the vet that diagnosed him to fine out exactly what his story is and what can be done for him.

Here are some pix I took of Finn this morning. He does not stop, just like the energizer bunny!

He is tall and lanky, and has feet the size of snowshoes. I am going to bump his food up just a bit, he is a little on the thin side. He is doing well so far and I may even have someone that could help with his eye surgery interested already. That is just in the inquiry stage right now though. I am sure you will get to see many more pix of him before he is adopted.

You should contact Deb and let her know. She might want to know about this pup's health problems as well as the dam's owner.

Wow, Joe, he sounds like a winner. Since they can remove cataracts from human eyes, they *should* be able to remove them from a dog. Good thoughts that they can - and can I have first dibs on him when he's all healed up?

Awww. I sure hope there is something they can do to help this guy.

Did the breeder give him up or the people the pup was placed with?
