This evening when I got home, we went to the park around the courthouse as usual. There is a fountain area there and a lady was there with her 5 y/o daughter. When Tal retrieved his ball, he started to go to them but I called him to me...a slight hesitation but he came.
THEN I saw them starting to leave and were walking on the sidewalk close to where we were. I had thrown Tal's ball and hoped it would keep him away long enough for them to walk by. So when he came running towards me, I knelt down and he ran right by me. Well, at least he didn't jump on the mom when I said "no jump". She was nice about it and I apologized. I didn't even have to grab him by his collar I just said come and he did. So I guess we're making progress.
I think the little girl didn't like the idea of being licked to death tho..
Good boy, Tal! Haylee also loves little kids and wants to lick their faces -- I have to warn the moms when they ask if it is OK if their child pets my dog -- I say, sure, but she'll wash their face!
Great, he's such a good puppy.
Its so nice when they "get it"- Tal you are a good boy and make your very dad proud!
Yeh, little kids are much more tempting to a lab then some ol ball
Good boy Tal. I am sure your dad was proud you didn't jump.
Tal is such a good boy.
Hershey Kisses can't leave any spec of food on our 15 month old granddaughter's face. When she has had enough (the granddaughter) she just pushes HKs head away.
I enjoy letting the 3 year olds we meet pet her, and get their faces licked, and start screaming. Then I tell them that HK loves them and that is how she kisses. Invariably, the Mom's then go high order when the three year olds try to hug and kiss HK. Its funny to me, and it works every time for getting the child calmed down, not the Moms though.
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
Good Boy Tal !
