Last night, well after dark, we were out in the front yard for the last potty trip for the day. Neighbors came out of their house with another couple. HK sits down, very alert, and watched them. They are apparently about to go out for an evening walk, four adults.
They turn in our direction and when they cross the line from the front of their house to the front of ours, HK delivers this deep threatening bark. Neighbor comments that her voice has definitely deepened and she doesn't sound like a puppy anymore.
I agree and point out to them that she was letting them know that they better not come any closer because she was going to protect me. At that comment we all laughed.
Did I forget to mention that HK issued her bark and then ran as fast as she could away from them, behind me, and parked herself between my legs watching from a protected position.

HK's no dummy! She warned those mean people, now it's your job to protect HER! ;D

What a cute story! She's getting to be such a big girl, huh? Well, at least she has the bark

Aw...HK, good for you, giving that warning bark so your mom could protect you.
So her bark is worse than her bite?/ lol Sorry couldn't resist that one!
