I am so pleased to get such a prompt reply from Old Mother Hubbard/Wellness. I was questioning where the get their ingredients from. I love the Old Mother Hubbard treats & have not been buying them since all the recalls. I just bought a few bags & I'm glad I emailed them. My girls love theri treats.
Here is their reply:
Thank you for taking the time to write about Old Mother Hubbard®.
Our ingredients are primarily sourced from the United States and Canada. We choose to source some ingredients internationally in order buy the best quality available – for example, lamb from New Zealand. Our ingredient breakdown by geography is as follows:
• U.S. and Canada: 95%+
• Australia and New Zealand: 4%
• Asia: less than 1%
• Europe: less than 1%
There are many high quality ingredients available in the U.S. However, sometimes ingredient quality is higher from other countries – such as Venison or Lamb from New Zealand and Australia; in other cases, sourcing from the U.S. isn’t an available option for us (or even the vast majority of pet food companies) because, for example, supplies are limited.
Please visit our website www.omhpet.com; we have updated it with information regarding the recent recall. You will find information about the sourcing of our ingredients, our quality assurance program and additional food safety measures.
Thanks again for contacting us.
good to know... also nice to see they are responsive company.
I by their treats also- glad to know the info.
Great to know. I only buy their dog cookies.
They sound like a good outfit. I may have to try some of their dog cookies.
Thanks for sharing. Gus and Zeke love the P-nutter dog biscuits. Since we are watching their weight, they don't get a lot of treats so they look forward to these.
Thanks Georgie. These are the main treats my dogs get as well (non-training treats). I buy the large bag and freeze what doesn't go into the doggie jar.
