I will have to try to take a photo this weekend, but am not sure it will show what I am going to attempt to describe before I get my new camera which is shaping up to be a Christmas present.
My interpretation of a cowlick is where fur growing in one direction meets with fur growing in a near opposition direction forming a line or raised area where the ends of the fur meet each other.
Hershey Kisses has a cowlick that seems to outline her bottom, the area in contact with the ground when she would do a proper sit. The fur on her back and sides lays pointed towards her rear, and the fur on her backside lays from her anus out to the sides. This forms a round or oval cowlick where they meet. Does this have a name? or is this just normal for all Labs. I never noticed it on any of our previous dogs.

So funny. Don't know if it has a name, but Guinney has it too. lol! ;D
Mocha has that too. I've always heard of a zipper refered to as being on the face.

I've always considered cowlicks to be round. Zippers are almost straight.
