    DefaultTankie Has a Chin Problem

This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday his chin got really bad and started oozing stuff from three places. He was into the vet on Friday for his Adaquan shot and the vet said hot compresses and antibiotic ointment. Then by yesterday it had grown to twice the size and looked awful. Back on antibiotics again. Vet said this is caused by hairs that get stuck in there and get infected. It is so stange because when you squeeze the area you can see hairs shoot out. Hope it goes away soon. Anyone else ever have this happen? He said it happens alot on their elbows as well.

Jacob had this. We were told that it was acne and given special cleansing wipes and a round of antibiotics. We washed his face after every meal. It eventually went away and hasn't been back. You might want to make sure Tank is on a probiotic while on his antibiotic.

Gee, another Morgan problem! Keep clean. Good luck!

Also - if I can see the ingrown hair(s) as they start to grow, pulling it out with a tweezer makes it heal almost immediately - but it's not often we can see the hair...

Bear had that last year... we got some special wipes that were supposed to clean and dry the area up.

Poor Tank. This has happened to Nick so I know what you're dealing with. Hope the antibiotics and treatment kick-in quickly.
