DefaultAnother question on wire crates. The saga continues!

I guess I will eventually have to get another lab...to make use of all these crates we have. :

Awhile back I asked for help with the purchase of wire crates for my Expedition. DH measured & all seemed well. We got 2 Kennel-Aire wire crates & I love them. So we used them in DH's truck when we train & go to hunt tests. They work well in the warm weather for air flow.

Well we went to put them in the Expedition & they really are snug. Now DH says maybe we need to get the Midwest crates that are the side by side kind for SUV's. > He is right, I think I would like the fit better also, but geez...we have 4 Plastic Vari-Kennels, 2 Kennel-Aire Wire crates & we only have 2 labs. These crates aren't cheap! : But these new ones will be for the Expedition when we travel.

So before I spend another $300. Does anyone have the Midwest Side by Side wire crates for their SUV's? Do you like them? I just wonder if they are big enough. I think they will be but I'm looking for opinions before spending more money. We now have crates for all seasons & occasions. :

I love my midwest side by side crates. I have both sizes but use the smaller ones in my ford explorer. All my labs fit nicely in them even my 90# (lean) male. If I use the bigger ones I have to put the sits down.

I have them in the Durango ........... Kona and Bo fit in them quite well. I have put a standard poodle in one without a problem also (he is taller than Kona).

Okay...now I guess I am going to sound dumb...but there are several sizes, so can I ask what size you foks bought? The Kennel-Aire crate are 24" X 36" X 26-1/2" high & the girls have alot of room.

    For the midwest crates, there are two sizes - 36 L X 21 W X 26" High

That seems like it will be fine. Because the other size is 42 L X 21 X 30" High & I think that is a liitle tall for the Expedition.

I do appreciate all your help & answers.

Seamus rides in a 36" crate when he's in the van. He's almost 90 pounds so I would think the 36" crates would be fine for your girls.

georgie, that is what I have. They are only 21" wide, but my dogs haven't had a problem turning around in them. They fit perfectly in the back of the Trailblazer, and I also put the third crate on the back seat so I can take all three dogs with me, crated.
