Mine did that once yrs ago and he'd swallowed a load of pebbles from the bed of the stream- it had caused a bleed in his stomach and the dark brown vommit was old blood- he had the pebbles removed and was completely fine.- hope yours is something more innocent.

    thanks all....

Just got back from a $170 vet visit :. Vet wasn't too concerned about anything too serious at this point(or at least let on). He received 2 different shots and some bland food for a couple days. We've had intermittent vomiting for the past 2 weeks though as we've been transitioning food, although he's developed a fence nibbling habit as well the past 2 weeks, but no big pieces seem to be missing.

He's still super spunky, playfull, and not tender to the touch on his belly, so he's didn't feel xrays were called for at this point, but i'll definitely be watching close here in case his demeanor changes.

    Thanks for the good thoughts.

$400 in the last month!!! First a foot injury, then some reaction on his tail i posted about awhile ago, and now this.

I'm glad the vet doesn't think it is anything serious. I hope he feels better. Thanks for the update.

I would watch him like a hawk- dark brown or coffee ground color is worrisome in my book! Not to worry you to much, but with the weekend coming up I would be a little nervous- also watch the stick eating it can be really tough on their tummy! Hope it all turns out well for you and your puppers!!
