How to use Yahoo Groups?

Ok, so I joined a couple Yahoo Groups. But I can't figure out how its organized. It seems the only way you can find things is by searching. Can you view current threads? I am so confused. All I know is forum structure like this. Help

Once you are on the group page, you will see a list on the left side like this:

* Home
* Messages
* Post
* Files
* Photos
* Links
* Database
* Polls
* Calendar

* Promote

Click on Messages and the page should show the newest messages. You can then choose which message to read and go to older messages by using the older and oldest options on the right side of the page. I don't think the Group pages are as easy to read and follow as a true bulletin board structure like here and I don't enjoy them nearly as much.

I did some poking around and it said 1 Database so I clicked on it. And it looked like orders for food? I am so confused lol..

Yes I have joined two specific groups. I just don't know how to do anything yet.

So, you log in, and on the left hand side there should be a list of the groups you have joined. Is there?

I can't look now but yes it has the groups I joined. And something about messages, new members, databases.

Okay, so click on a group under "my groups" and that will bring you to the home page for that group. Click on "messages" and it should give you the messages in the order that they were posted. The thing I really dislike about yahoo groups is that there doesn't seem to be any way to group posts by subject or thread; the only way to read them is in chronological order. So, you might have two posts on one subject, and then a post on something completely different, and then another post on the first subject. I find it very hard to follow.

Sounds too confusing to even try to deal with. Better to leave it for the youngins to use...heh
