This is he email I sent.

Can you confirm that you Kirkland Chicken and Rice Dry Dog Food does not contain any ingredient from China?

I am not talking about anti-China products, I am talking about animals lives. I have thrown out the Chicken Jerky, Duck Jerky, and Roll Twist teats that I purchased at Costco because they are products from China and I do not trust what they may be putting into animal foods.

If you can not confirm that your supplier is not using China ingredients in your Kirkalnd Signature Chicken And Rice Dog Food, I will have to purchase brands elsewhere that I can get the confirmation from the manfacturer.

The sitiuation is that I will not buy the product you offer without confirmation. Please respond.

You might try contacting the vet off the Diamond Pet Food page. If its the same woman, she's always been very responsive to emails.

I agree with Labby -- Dr. Melissa Brookshire has always been very helpful.

Anything true of "Diamond Naturals" dry food should also be true of "Kirkland Signature" -- they're very similar.

Send an email to the contact info on the Diamond Pet Food website. I contact them quite often and get responses back right away. They are extremely helpful.

This is the reply that I received from a vet at Diamond. Not what i was hoping for, but maybe the best that we can get without forgoing prepared foods. She at least claims that they are screening the products that receive from Asia.

I think I will try the same email to Innova.

Subject: RE: * Diamond Pet Foods Info Request: Product Concern

We buy all our ingredients from US companies, and 99.9% of these
    ingredients are from the US.

We wish that we did not have to import any dietary components.
Unfortunately, the US has outsourced production of many consumer items
(toys, as you are aware of), including some food products, used both in
human (vitamin fortified foods, etc)and animal feeds (not just Diamond
    Pet Foods).

Taurine and vitamins are critical components of a mammalian diet, and
are no longer available from US sources, so they are outsourced from
Asia, and imported into the US. These ingredients are tested by in
vitro (laboratory) testing for toxins by our vendor, prior to use in our
    feeds.

Hope this helps to clarify. Let me know if there is anything else that
    I can do for you.

Thank you for posting that, very helpful. And that was a rapid response, wasn't it?

(Dr. Melissa Brookshire must not be Diamond's vet any more.)

I was amazed how fast they responded. The first working day since I sent that email.

I suspect that they have more than one vet looking at their food and animal nutrition.. I hope so.

What impressed me was that I got such a rapid response to the question without a lot of BS avoiding saying that they in fact do purchase product from Asia. She justified the purchases and tried to offer assurance that they test and monitor the product before it is included in their food.
