My husband is driving me nuts about what our Gussers is mixed with. I'm thinking Chow since he has a spotted black tongue I was told his momma was a black lab and the owner had no clue who the daddy was : Anyways he just turned 6 months today and is the love of my life I could care less but the hubby is driving me mad wanted to get some labby expert advice ;D
His Puppy pic 10 weeks old
The spots on the tongue don't always mean a mix with chow. But in this case I would guess he is mixed with chow. Looks just like one of Mambo's friends. He is chow/lab. Really cute though.
Labs can have black spotted toungs. Sorry I can't help with the mix though he's cute
Ditto Black spots show up on a lot of breeds. I've personaly seen GSDs and a Newf with them. My guess for Gusser's mix would be Lab/GSD. There's just something about his face that makes me think he has some GSD in him.Originally Posted by Mambo
Honestly, I can't tell.
How big is he now? I mean, size and weight wise?
You will probably get more accurate guesses when he is fully mature. It is hard to say while they are still growing.
He's adorable! You could always fork over $70 for the doggy dna test.

Yes you could. But from what I have read and seen here. He may come back showing he is a poodle/beagle...Originally Posted by jzgrlduff
Thanks for the input!!! Glad to know about the tongue thing I had no idea... I had to do a search on what gsd was too LOL He definately has the long nose/moth of one. He is about 50 lbs. not too sure on the height though he is tall enough to counter surf easily and when he gives me standing hugs his head is at my chest and I'm 5'8" HA!!!
I will mention the doggie DNA test to the hubby!!! Thanks
And didn't kaytris post something about a black Collie mix who had a DNA test and it's primary breed was CHIHUAHUA? I don't trust the reliability of those things.Yes you could. But from what I have read and seen here. He may come back showing he is a poodle/beagle...
abrabeth, do you have a standing picture of him at 6 months?
