Update: see Ender's Dad post below
I noticed this on Ender's foot when I puppy sat him on sunday... Eric took some pictures and wanted me to ask you all what you thought and if it was something he should take him to the vet for.
He doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all... doesn't limp... doesn't have a pain reaction when we touch it... (might get a little annoyed at all the paw handling but no more than normal)
Whatchall think? ???
I would get it checked out, but I'm a bit sensitive to any bumps nowadays. I'd wait for some more experienced advice from other JLers. Hopefully it is nothing to be concerned about.
I would get it checked out. Our other dog had that, but it turned out to be nothing other than calcium deposit on her knuckle. I would have worried about it had I not had it checked out. I never got any larger than Ender's and it never bothered her.
What about a bug, spider bite or another dog bite?
Looks to me like a repetitive injury/callous. Might get it checked out to be safe.
If I have learned nothing else in the past month, I have learned this:
ALL BUMPS NEED TO BE CHECKED.
And by checked I mean aspirated.
Not to frighten you, but mast cell tumors are impossible to tell from lipomas or any other benign, harmless growth. The only way to know for sure is to have the aspirate analyzed. They are very easily identified in this way.
It's probably nothing, so don't panic. But please do get it checked just to be safe. olice:

Gone ahead, but forever in my heart:
Crash, Pit Bull x Rottweiler x Golden Retriever
Abby has one of those on her back paw. We had it checked out and aspirated and it is a hystiocytoma (the bumps that aren't bad)

He's got an appointment for Friday at 3:30. I'll keep everyone posted as to what it is since he seems to be a bit of a celebrity around here. Thanks everyone!
Sending good thought for Ender. Thanks Eric for posting on the outcome. I hope it's nothing.

More than likely it is a button tumor (benign), but if it were my dog I would have it looked at.
