I don't know if any of you remember my dilemma about getting enough exercise for our pup(doesn't really like fetch, or any game except to chase and bite us), but I am happy to announce that I think we've found the right combination. We've taken her once a week to doggy daycare for the day for the past two weeks. Ever since she has gone, she has been a dream dog to be around. Don't get me wrong, we still have to keep the toys, etc picked up, but she is actually playing nicely with the kids(ages 9 and 5) and hasn't tried to play bite and attack us at all. I think she is getting that all out of her system at dog playtime. The day after she has been there, she really doesn't even want to go for walks that much, just likes to hang out and the rest of the week is way lower key than it used to be.
I adventured out today to the park with her and the girls(hubby had to work). It was her first water experience and she loved it. I think she loved rolling in the sand more though. I wished I'd had the camera, but it was just too much to hold her, watch the kids and not fall in myself. Youngest daughter actually fell in, oops. I think I'll take another adult with me next time, don't want anyone to drown.
Piper is snoring right next to me now. Keeping my fingers crossed that this new pup we've had for the last two weeks is here to stay, the old pup was really trying my nerves.
Glad you and are pup are working it out.
Kassa was hard work in the begining. Training and bringing up a pup takes a lot of work, but worth it.
Hang in there and you will have a wonderful soul mate and companion.
Thats awesome! Good doggie Piper! Now maybe you could teach my Sparrow how to not think that chasing and biting is a fun game!
