    DefaultFood Dehydrator?

Who has one? Where did you get it? What did you pay?

What foods have you dehydrated? Do you keep them in the fridge?

    TIA!

I have one. Got it last fall at Bass Pro Warehouse. So far I've done mostly banana's and apples. Apples I put in the fridge, bananas I didn't...bananas get really crisp.

Got a Sunbeam. Not sure you get that make in the U.S.

I have tried all sorts in it. Bananas aren't successful. Apples are brilliant. Mushrooms are great. Liver for the dogs is o.k, but oven does a btter job.

I keep the stuff in an air tight jar.

I have one, you want it? I used it twice and did not have good results either time. Tried drying sweet potato for jerky treats, then tried some fruits.

We have one, we used it last night/today! It's a Nesco Amercian Harvest. The ket is to get the stuff you put in it thin. We have done all kinds of fruits & veggies.... I LOVE honey bananas! Most of the veggies we put in storage bags, flatten them & put them in the freezer. For tomatoes you have to use a meaty one like a roma (thats what we did last night). The girls like them crispy too!

I am so so excited!! Jackie is going to send me hers Jackie rocks!!! 8)

I can't wait to try it!

I want it to make treats for the boys. Especially Angus...with this cancer diagnosis, my dog food lady has made me promise NO MORE carbs. Or HOT DOGS! I'm kind of freaking out about that one. So, no more cookies, no more hot dogs. I've got to do something to train with, and for their bedtime treat.

Maybe I will do bananas for their bedtime treat and meat for their training treats!

This is really going to be great.

For a while, our local Costco ran out of the chicken jerky that our dogs are addicted to, so my friend and I looked into buying a dehydrator and making our own. We eventually decided that making enough jerky to satisfy seven dogs (she has three bassets) would be a full time committment ;D
