Every so often Tal will hack during the night. Of copurse it is on the carpet and when I bought the house I decided to go ahead and get a carpet shampoo machine. I got a Bissell (forgot the model) but it's pretty nice and comes with a couple of attachments.
Well, twice in the last week Tal hacked on the carpet and all I had to do was fill the container with hot water and basically vacuum the spot. Man I wish I had gotten one of these alot sooner! You can't tell there was ever anything on it!
Is it the Bissell Green Machine? (I think that's what it's called). I had one when Henery was younger.. oh boy, if I could tell you how many times I've used it to clean pee stains (one of Henry's friends would ALWAYS pee in our house :) vomit and butt scootches... !! The carpet always came out cleaner than it was before it got peed/spewed/rubbed on!
Now we have hardwood and ceramic tile... so the SwifferWetJet does just fine.
It's kinda crazy, but just seeing the dirt you pick up with it makes you feel great! ;D
I'm in desperate need of carpet, but have been putting it off until Riley is a bit older (she's 6 months and has not had an accident in the house for about a month now, but you never know). Think I'll need to invest in one of those Green Machines once I do get carpet.
I've got a SpotBot -- similar to a Bissell, I think. Between Jed & my 2 cats and their various "deposits" on the upstairs carpet I've been very happy with its performance. One thing I've learned, though, is to pick up the chunks/pile (sorry for the description), and wait for the leftovers to dry. It comes out much easier.
It's not the Bissell green machine...it is made like an upright vacuum.
By the time I saw where Tal left last night's dinner it had already dried. So I picked up the chunks and vacuumed the area then used the capret shampoo machine.
Sure beast the hand method that never seemed to quite do the trick!
Our house is all carpeted and we have a Green Machine. It's been AWESOME...especially in the younger days with the pee/poo stains. It is great for when she is sick and we find some goodies in not good places...
