Apparently something I posted in an O&E topic gave an unintended impression that my demise was eminent. Although none of us really know when that day may come, I don't have any inside information suggesting that mine is soon. I do appreciate the e-mail and PM expressions of concern though.
This will be Cappy's 9th hunting season this fall. He's really aged in the past year. He still loves to train but now jogs most of the time rather than his lifelong full speed charges out and back. His swimming is considerably slower and more methodical. Father time has caught up with him somewhat.
Alas, me too. At age 66 in just a few months I will have outlived my mother, father and only sibling ... all of whom died at age 63. I thank God every day for Carol, our two dawgs, all of us being in generally good health, and my still having the ability to do a hard HALF day's work! I need an afternoon nap after an hour training session with the dawgs at 6:30 am each morning, and then chores until noon or so most days.
Besides diminishing eye sight, the typical aches and pains caused by arthritis in an old body, and a few assorted other minor infirmities, I just hope to have a healthy and active duck season for Cappy and me this fall. Next year, if we're both still around and OK, I'll make the same wish. Carol and Remi are of course included in those wishes as well. They are just a lot younger than Cappy and me. Remi will be three in September and Carol turns 30 for the 2nd time that month. (Shhhhhhh). :
Remi and Rusty aren't my whole life. They're trying to fill the hole in my heart left by Cappy's passing.
Good luck to all four of you this year, looking forward to the pictures.
Can't wait for this season's pics!
Good luck and wish only the best for all you!
