We too are suffering a limber tail/cold tail. Just Jake this time, we took them swimming yesterday, he's a swimmer and I guess he just over exerted himself poor baby. Anyway, he's showing a bit of improvement and not whinning, but the tail is still not doing it's thing. Is it too late to offer some ascription 40 hours later?
No its not too late if he's still hurting.

If he is still uncomfortable, go ahead and give him some Ascriptin. Warm compresses can help also.
He's showing a lot of improvement this morning, we applied a warm water bottle as soon as we noticed it so that might have helped some. I gave ascription a few minutes ago so hopefully he won't be uncomfortable the remainder of the day. How soon after can he return to swimming following this?
I would rest him a few days -- Haylee is still uncomfortable this morning, but does seem better. She was restless most of the night, but is sleeping soundly right now. I won't be letting Haylee swim for the rest of the week. I hope your dog feels better soon -- at least we know it's nothing serious and it will get better. Haylee sends chocolate kisses!! :-*
and Vanilla kisses back to Haylee!!
