I was able to find a zoom goom at the store today. I have not been able to find one any place and was going to order one this week. well I found one at the store today and got it because Jacey has hair all over the truck from going to class lastnight. I came home and zoomed everyone. I got hair out of Jacey and Maggie and none out of Copper or Dakota. I have NEVER gotten any hair out of Dakota and I find that odd. Copper I could brush like crazy when she was younger but got nothing today (and I tried). Maggie and Jacey OMG I thought I was going to be sick with all that hair (and I brush them once a week as it is). Kaden wanted to pick up all the hair so I had him put it in a store sack. Then he got bored with that after 1 and a half dogs. So I let him try his hand at brushing Maggie. He had lots of fun!!
Do older labs slow their hair loss when they are older? Because copper had NO hair coming out at all. She doesn't like to be brushed any more but we do take a damp wash rag to her every once in a while and we would get some hair out. the last few months she really hasn't needed it and they have been out in the water and I thought that she was getting shaking it off herself. I'm confused as to where her hair has gone?!
You know... come to think of it, my Nestle didn't seem to drop as much hair in his senior years. Lily and Legend drop a lot, and I brush them several times a week. It comes out like they have never been brushed. I do believe they blow their coats year round. If aging slows the process of shedding, whooooo hoooo!

Paddy (he'll be 11 in 3 months) is shedding like mad this year. I can usually just damp wipe him to get whatever loose hair there is, but I finally had to take the slicker to him. Yikes! Lots of fur!
Seamus and Flynn
we bought one of those water vacuums from www.thane.ca and at first I was skeptical but have to admit they work great for trapping in the dirt (in the water canister) and I don't have dog hair blowing around the house.... Aside from the zoom and groom... I tried the vac with brush on Rowan today.... and surprisingly she let me... LOL!!
Sorry, I can't help you with the older dog question though Kathryn but glad you were able to get a "zoomer'.
Well just bust my dreams of the the shedding stopping lol.Originally Posted by Paddysmom

Kathryn you might spoke too soon. Copper might start her shedding tomorrow. :P
You know the hair dosnt bother me at all. If she wanted to start shedding again I wouldnt care. Its like vacuuming to me I love it!! Sitting with the dogs and brushing them dosnt bother me at all. I guess Im weird.Originally Posted by Emma the Lab
And Kathryn I thought I was the only one! ;D I LOVE the shedding. I brush, brush and brush and all the hair just blowing around my head. But you must have just as fun x4! (well x3 if Copper decided she won't shed anymore)
People think I am weired when I say I LOVE the blowing.
When you put it that way I look crazy! lol Tons of hair times 4 is OODLES AND OODLES AND OODLES!!! OMG What was I thinking lolOriginally Posted by Emma the Lab
