How do you store canned pumpkin to keep it from spoiling once the can is opened? I only give Mercedes a teaspoon on her food so a can will spoil in that time with so little of the pumpkin being used..sort of would defeat the purpose, makng my girl diarreha from bad food!!!! Can pumpkin be frozen??
I've heard that you can freeze pumpkin. I would just transfer it to a freezer container, and it should be fine.
Brigetta loves pumpkin, so I never have any left to freeze

I pre-measure what's left onto a waxedpaper covered cookie sheet and freeze it. Once it's frozen, you can transfer it into a freezer bag. I give it to Caleb frozen, too. He actualy likes it better frozen.
How about putting the rest into ice cube trays, freezing, then popping them out into a zip lock. They would be in serving sizes then.
Thats what I do. Works like a charm.Originally Posted by luvztorite

I use the kind of can opener that makes the top like a lid so you can close the can. Then I refrigerate it, and just use what I need every day. I use about a can a week, for Buddy, he gets a couple of heaping tablespoons with his beans every evening.
