    DefaultNeed help (Question)

Is it childens benadryl we can give the pups? And if so what is the dose?

I just noticed Sassy has little bump under her eye and I'm not real sure if it's a bite or not.

I'm keeping an eye on her and she just sleeping right now.

Besides the benadryl is there anything else I can do?

Use regular Benadryl. Dosage is 1/2 mg. per lb of body weight every 8 hours ... maximum dose is up to 2mg per lb. body weight.

What Raian said, regular benadryl. My vet told me 1 mg per pound of body weight, but that was when Toby had his bee sting, so the dose might have been a bit higher than the usual to get it in his system right away.

You could try applying a cold compress if she'll stay still long enough, it will help reduce the swelling. Don't put stright ice directly on it, though, especially if it's right at the eye, that would be very uncomfortable for her, just a cold cloth.

I'd go to cold compress first before the drugs. But that is me.

Aly takes (per vet) 75 mg (three tablets) of adult benadryl as needed for her allergies. She is 75 lbs.

**PLEASE NOTE** Make sure you get regular benadryl and NOT benadryl with anything else in it like a pain killer. It should NOT say "allergy and sinus" or or "allergy and sinus headache."

Thanks everyone, I didn't have any benadryl so last night I put
a cold compress (cold wash cloth) on her and this morning it looks
alittle better, But I'm getting some Benadryl today.
